Meet the guest teachers
Joclyn Abreu
Is a passionate certified yoga instructor who has been on a transformative journey since she began practicing yoga in 2019. Living with asthma since the age of three, Joclyn faced significant challenges with intense physical activities, often finding herself in respiratory distress. However, yoga became her sanctuary, teaching her the powerful connection between mind and body through breath. This practice not only enhanced her physical endurance but also brought her mental clarity and emotional equilibrium. Joclyn will be leading a 75-minute active flow at the Winter Full-Day Yoga Retreat — Agua: Flow in Your Purpose, helping participants move with intention and connect to their purpose. This session will support inner clarity and alignment.

Shirley Montoya
Is a first-generation Latina facilitator of healing, licensed massage therapist, and the founder of SpiritScienceMedicine, a holistic wellness studio based in Humboldt Park, Chicago. With over a decade of experience in massage therapy, Pilates, postural restoration, and EFT Tapping, Shirley offers care that is intuitive, trauma-informed, and rooted in both clinical knowledge and ancestral wisdom. Her approach is body-centered and emotionally attuned, blending structural alignment with energy-awareness to support deep, lasting change. Shirley will be offering a restorative sound healing and tapping & self-massage session at the Spring Full-Day Yoga Retreat — Aire: Move with Intention, to help close the day in balance. This session will help participants feel grounded and restored.
Dr. Alyssa Perez, LAc, DACM, CPT
Is a licensed acupuncturist, certified Pilates teacher, and community wellness creator based in Chicago. Her work bridges Chinese medicine, movement, and cultural connection to make healing practices accessible, inclusive, and personal. Alyssa believes these wellness practices are a way to reconnect with ourselves and our communities. She is also the founder of Inner Sol Studio, a Latina owned wellness hub that brings together acupuncture, Pilates, and community offerings to reimagine what healing can look like when it’s rooted in culture, care, and connection.
Dr. Alyssa will be leading a Strong Pilates Flow combined with grounding acupuncture at the Summer Full-Day Yoga Retreat — Fuego: Fuel Your Passion, offering a full-body experience. This session will empower participants to ignite energy and nourish body and mind.

DuShaun Branch Pollard
Has been practicing yoga for nearly 16 years and fell in love with it because it helped her find peace of mind while moving her body. DuShaun is dedicated to making yoga accessible to as many communities as possible. She believes that people need not only rest but also resistance; yoga provides a powerful way to balance ease and positive effort. She teaches with an emphasis on equity and trauma-informed practices, hosting classes in “non-traditional” settings across the city. DuShaun genuinely believes yoga is for everyone and shares this message throughout Chicago and beyond. DuShaun will be leading an Ishvara Pranidhana-inspired active flow at the Fall Full-Day Yoga Retreat — Tierra: Embrace Change, guiding participants through mindful movement, surrender, and intentional release. This session will help participants embrace change with ease and intention.
Make self-care a ritual, not a one-time event.

Meet the retreat leader
Hey! I'm Nathalys, founder of Sosiego LLC. My journey with yoga began as a transformative personal experience that inspired me to deepen my studies in anatomy, gentle yoga, and yoga philosophy. After years of assisting trauma survivors and promoting equity and inclusion, I've come to realize that there is a universal need for healing and for the practical tools required to achieve it. And so I provide personalized wellness programs designed to help bring serenity and balance into your life. My approach to wellness is holistic, integrating yoga training with a rich cultural perspective and effective teaching methodologies. My background includes 200-hour certified yoga training in vinyasa flow, specialized certification in breathwork and yoga nidra, and an international degree in modern languages and didactics. Join me in finding serenity — sosiego — wherever you are.

For Out-of-State and International Guests
I’m excited to welcome you to Chicago for the Full-Day Yoga Retreats! The city’s sunny charm makes it the perfect backdrop for a day of reflection and renewal. If you're traveling from out of state or internationally, you can fly into O’Hare International Airport (just 10 miles from the venue) or Midway International Airport (15 miles away).
There are great hotel options nearby, including the Holiday Inn O'Hare, SpringHill Suites, Hyatt Regency, and The Rose Hotel. If you prefer a cozier stay, consider Airbnbs in neighborhoods like Lincoln Square or Forest Glen.
After the retreat, I highly recommend exploring Chicago’s highlights: visit Millennium Park, check out the Art Institute, stroll through the Lincoln Park Zoo, walk along the Riverwalk, or shop at the Magnificent Mile.
I can’t wait to see you there, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
